Meet the team at Sunburnt Penguin Productions

  • Clelia Mountford is a multi-BAFTA award-winning television and film producer.

    Prior to founding Sunburnt Penguin, she previously co-founded Merman with Sharon Horgan in 2014, and via that company, executive produced two series of the BAFTA award-winning, and EMMY nominated BAD SISTERS (Apple TV+).

    Clelia executive produced the Channel 4 series PUSHERS starring Rosie Jones and AMANDALAND, for the BBC, starring Lucy Punch. She executive produced the Sky comedy drama DREAMLAND (Sky), starring Lily Allen and Freema Agyeman. She produced two series of the award-winning THERE SHE GOES (BBC Two) written by Shaun Pye and starring David Tennant and Jessica Hynes, as well as the critically acclaimed THERE SHE GOES SPECIAL. Further comedy credits include three series of the BAFTA-award winning comedy MOTHERLAND (BBC Two) and two critically acclaimed MOTHERLAND CHRISTMAS SPECIALS (BBC Two).

    Clelia’s other executive producer credits include both series of comedy drama FRAYED (Sky One/ABC Australia), written by and starring Sarah Kendall; FRANK OF IRELAND (C4/Amazon), created by Brian and Domhnall Gleeson and Michael Moloney; two series of American horror SHINING VALE (Starz) starring Courteney Cox, two series of animated comedy series HOUSEBROKEN (Fox), starring Lisa Kudrow; and both series of THIS WAY UP (Channel 4/HULU) written by and starring Aisling Bea. Clelia also produced the third season of THE INCREASINGLY POOR DECISIONS OF TODD MARGARET, created by and starring David Cross.

    Further credits include Executive Producer on WOMEN ON THE VERGE, (W/RTE), starring Kerry Condon, Eileen Walsh and Nina Sosanya, Amazon Original film HERSELF, URBAN MYTH ANDY & THE DONALD starring Anthony Atamanuik and Jack McBrayer.

    Clelia devised and produced two series of the comedy drama adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s A YOUNG DOCTOR’S NOTEBOOK (Sky Arts) starring Jon Hamm and Daniel Radcliffe. The show received huge critical acclaim, winning record-breaking audiences for Sky Arts. She produced MR SLOANE (Sky Atlantic) starring Nick Frost and Olivia Colman, David Cross’s BLISS (Sky One) starring Stephen Mangan and Heather Graham and THE CIRCUIT (Channel 4) by Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly, starring Adeel Akhtar and Eva Birthistle and the audio drama PEOPLE WHO KNEW ME, starring Rosamund Pike and Hugh Laurie.

    Prior to founding Merman, Clelia held roles as Head of Comedy at RDF and Head of Radio and TV Script Associate at TalkbackThames.

  • Saskia Schuster is Executive Producer for Sunburnt Penguin and is building her own slate of dark comedies and innovative dramas with wit and compelling storytelling at the core. Saskia has built a career at the heart of scripted television, commissioning, developing, and producing standout drama and comedy for the UK’s biggest broadcasters and global streamers. She brings with her a perspective shaped by years on both sides of the pitch — as Head of Comedy at ITV and Comedy Commissioner at Sky, and as a producer working with top-tier talent including Jez Butterworth, James Graham, Jesse Armstrong, and Sam Bain.

    At ITV and Sky, Saskia commissioned a wide range of titles — from PLEBS, TIMEWASTERS, and BENIDORM to VICIOUS, PSYCHOBITCHES, and YONDERLAND — plus comedy-entertainment hits like Harry Hill’s ALIEN FUN CAPSULE and DON’T HATE THE PLAYAZ. On the indie side, she’s been part of the team behind much-loved series including PEEP SHOW, FRESH MEAT, and ARMSTRONG AND MILLER.

    She’s also the founder of Comedy 50:50, an initiative pushing for better gender balance in comedy, and a mentor to emerging talent such as BAFTA-winner Kate Herron. Saskia brings a mix of creative insight, strategic thinking, and a clear passion for smart, distinctive storytelling.

Saskia Schuster

  • Ye-Ye joined Sunburnt Penguin as Creative Assistant in January 2025, where she supports the team editorially and collaborates closely with writers to bring projects onto the development slate. Her role involves actively contributing to the development process to help shape compelling new content.

    Prior to joining Sunburnt Penguin, Ye-Ye honed her skills as an Assistant at Tiger Aspect and Banijay’s Creative Networks team, where she also co-created and hosted an internal podcast, enhancing team communication and collaboration.

    Passionate about storytelling, Ye-Ye was most recently a part of the 2025 cohort of 'Talawa Theatre’s Introductory Writers Group' and in 2024, was a finalist in the Enter Stage Write 'Amplified' scriptwriting competition.
